The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed school principals and examination center superintendents to ensure timely updates of the Online Exam Centre Management System (OECMS) portal for the current Class 10 and 12 board exams in 2025. The CBSE board has issued a warning of the same.
In a notification issued by CBSE, it stated that “It has been observed that many examination centres are still not updating the examination data in the OECMS portal despite the instructions issued in this regard.”
“ It may be understood that the OECMS is not merely for submission of absentee statement. In case the school does not submit information for a particular day on OECMS, the payment for that particular day will not be calculated in IPS. The OECMS data is to be submitted daily even if there is no absentee at the centre,” warned the board.
“You are aware that Board’s Annual Examinations have commenced w.e.f. 15/02/2025. This Examination is a gigantic exercise involving Lakhs of functionaries at various levels. Proper maintenance and online updation of records related to day-to-day examinations are of utmost importance for better management and supervision of examinations and also for payment of functionaries through IPS,” the board said in an official notice.
The CBSE has completed the Class 10 exams on March 13, 2025, and the results are expected to be published in May on the official website — @cbse.gov.in. The Class 12 exams are underway and will conclude on April 2, 2025.
In a recent development, the board has extended the deadline for conducting Class 10 practical exams. Schools that have not yet held the exams now have until March 31, 2025, to complete them. Furthermore, schools have been given until March 31, 2025, to submit the marks for practical exams, project work, and internal assessments for the 2023-24 academic year.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the CBSE Class 10 and 12 results in May 2025 on its official websites cbse.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. The Class 12 results for all streams—Science, Commerce, and Arts—are typically declared simultaneously. To access their results, students will need their admit card number, roll number, and school number as mentioned in their admit cards.
The CBSE Board Result 2025 will contain the student’s name, roll number, date of birth, marks obtained in all subjects, grades, etc. Students can also check their Class 10 and 12 results through SMS, DigiLocker, and the UMANG App. It is important to note that the online results are provisional, and students are required to collect the original mark sheet from their schools.
To pass the CBSE exams in 2025, students must achieve an overall score of at least 33% (including both internal assessment and Board examination marks) in all subjects. The CBSE Class 10 and 12 exams for 2025 were scheduled to take place between February 15 and April 2, 2025.
In the previous year, the CBSE announced the results for Class 10 and 12 on May 12. Additionally, the results for compartment exams were also released.

To check your CBSE Result 2025 online, follow these steps:
The OECMS (Online Examination & Communication Management System) portal is an official platform used by CBSE schools to manage and upload essential data related to exams, such as student results, marksheets, and other examination-related details. The board has instructed schools to update this portal regularly to ensure accurate and timely processing of CBSE results.
Updating the OECMS portal ensures that student data, including marks, grades, and other relevant details, are correctly entered and submitted to CBSE. Failure to update the portal could lead to discrepancies in the result processing, delays in result announcements, or errors in the marksheet generation.
Schools are advised to update the OECMS portal well in advance of the result announcement. The CBSE typically provides a timeline for schools to submit and verify student data before the final result declaration. Schools must ensure that all data is uploaded by the given deadlines to avoid any complications with the results.
If a school fails to update the OECMS portal within the specified time frame, it can result in delays in the release of results or incorrect data being reflected on the student’s marksheet. In severe cases, the school may face penalties or actions from CBSE for non-compliance with the guidelines.
