adrenal-gland
The adrenal gland is a small, triangular-shaped gland located on top of each kidney. The adrenal gland is responsible for the production of the hormones cortisol and adrenaline. The adrenal gland is also responsible for the fight-or-flight response. The adrenal gland is located on the top of each kidney. It is about the size of a walnut. The adrenal gland is made up of two parts: the cortex and the medulla. The cortex produces hormones such as cortisol, aldosterone, and sex hormones. The medulla produces epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine (noradrenaline). These hormones are responsible for the body’s response to stress.
