Overview of Ichthyosaur

Ichthyosaurs were a group of marine reptiles that first appeared during the Early Triassic Period. They were closely related to the Plesiosaurs, and both groups are thought to have evolved from a common ancestor. Ichthyosaurs were fast, agile swimmers, and were equipped with powerful jaws and sharp teeth. They were typically fish-eaters, but some species may have preyed on other marine reptiles. Ichthyosaurs were one of the most successful marine reptiles of all time, and fossils have been found on every continent except Antarctica.
