In the previous segment, we learnt about Herbs, Shrubs, and Trees. In this segment, we will learn about Creepers and Climbers.

    What are Creepers?

Creepers are plants with weak stems that cannot carry the weight of the plant. Hence, they cannot stand upright but creep or crawl on the ground.

    For example, watermelon and muskmelon.

    What are Climbers?

Climbers are similar in structure to creepers but instead of spreading on the ground, climbers prefer to climb on to a support like a rod, stick, wall, fence, or a tree.

They hold on to the support using tiny thread-like structures called Tendrils. They wrap around the stable support so that the stem can grip it firmly. Tendrils, thus help in anchoring the plant.

    For example, grapes and money-plants.
