    Derivation

    Coulomb is the SI unit of electric charge. Thus, the dimensional formula of Coulomb is the same as that of the electric charge.

    Since, electric charge (Q) = current × time – (1)

    The dimensional formula of,

    Time = [M0 L0 T1] – (3)

    On replacing equation (2) and (3) in equation (1)

    Meanwhile, electric charge (Coulomb) = current × time

    Coulomb = [M0 L0 T0 I1] × [M0 L0 T1] = [M0 L0 T1 I1]

    So, Coulomb is dimensionally denoted as [M0 L0 T1 I1].
