What is the Male reproductive system?

The organ system in males that is responsible for the production and transfer of male germ cells is known as the male reproductive system. The male germ cells are also called Sperms.

What are the Different parts of the male reproductive system?

The male reproductive system is made up of several organs and glands. The major parts of the system are the penis, testes, epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicle, prostate gland, and bulbourethral gland.

    What is a Seminal vesicle?

    • A seminal vesicle secretes a fluid that provides sugar to the motile sperms.
    • It makes up about 70% of the fluid that comes out of the urethra during ejaculation.

    What is the Prostate gland?

    • The prostate gland secretes a fluid that acts as the protector of sperms.
    • The fluid neutralizes the pH of the vagina which helps sperms to survive for a longer period in the vaginal tract.
    • It makes up around 20% of the fluid that comes out of the urethra during ejaculation.

    What is the Bulbourethral gland?

    • The bulbourethral gland secretes fluid that will neutralize the acidity in the urethra.
    • It also lubricates the tube moving through the penis to enable easy ejaculation of the sperms.
