    What are the different ways of reflection of light in ray diagrams?

    • A ray diagram of a concave mirror can be used to find the image characteristics as well as the position of the image of an object.
    • A ray of light travelling parallel to the principal axis will pass through the principal focus after reflection.
    • A ray of light passing through the focus will travel parallel to the principal axis after reflection.
    • A ray of light travelling along the principal axis will travel back along the principal axis in the opposite direction after reflection.

     

    Different Locations where Images are formed due to a Concave Mirror

    A concave mirror is a curved mirror that is curved inward and has a reflecting surface that is directed towards the light source. This type of mirror is used to create images that can be seen from a distance. In this article, we will discuss different locations where images are formed due to a concave mirror.

    First, we will look at the location of the focal point. This is the point where all the light rays that are reflected off the mirror converge. This point is located directly behind the mirror and is the point at which an image will be formed. The size of the image will depend on the size of the mirror and the distance from the focal point.

    The second location where an image can be formed with a concave mirror is at the center of curvature. This is the point from which the mirror was curved and is located directly in front of the mirror. When light rays are directed at the center of curvature, an inverted image will be formed. This image is smaller than the image formed at the focal point.

    Finally, an image can also be formed at the principal focus. This is the point at which the light rays that are reflected off the mirror are parallel. This point is located directly in front of the mirror and can be used to create an enlarged image.

    In conclusion, a concave mirror is used to create images that can be seen from a distance. Images can be formed at the focal point, the center of curvature and the principal focus. The size of the image will depend on the size of the mirror and the distance from the focal point.
