Every person is different from one another. One might be good in academics and the other might have a skill set for photography. Some people are born to help the needy, some are born with intelligent brains, some to pursue art and architecture while many of them simply write their way through life and become writers. Some people take more than the required time to think of their aim. They constantly think about what to do with life. However, we shouldn’t complicate the easiest things. Just close your eyes, think about what you like the most on a bigger level, and that’s it. That is your passion and your aim in life.

All you have to do is come closer to that part and make it your aim. If you are a doctor but you always wanted to be a dancer, then you’ll live through your life with a half heart despite all the respect, love, recognition, fame, and money. The only way is that if you want to be a doctor, do that. If you want to be a painter, give it a shot. Don’t indulge in double-thinking. Do not depreciate your worth because it will only drag you farther from your aim. Stick with your passion and make your dream come true by simply following it.

My Aim: To Be A Teacher

Finding a suitable career for oneself is not easy. For some, it takes a lot of brainstorming, while for the rest, things happen naturally. For me, it was the latter case and I am thankful that I was able to determine my aim in life clearly and easily. It was not hard for me to decide what I wanted to do with my life. I have been pretty sure since I was a kid. While I did rethink the options I had many times, this was the only thing I kept coming back to, which showed me how much this was the one passion in my life I should be following and pursuing professionally – and that was to be a Teacher.

As a student, I always enjoyed participating in debate competitions and extempore. I was chosen as the Literary Captain in 8th grade. I always looked forward to the English class. Not only this, I would always read the assigned chapters for class way in advance so that I could be ready for the lectures. This made it quite clear that I wanted to pursue higher studies in the same subject.

My aim was to pursue academics and become a teacher in either a government school or college. This aim can also be credited to my father. He became a teacher in 1991 in the TGT English position, in a Delhi Government School. He has been a teacher for around 30 years now, and there is something I feel connected to whenever he mentions his favorite poets and authors. Whenever he is free, we take time to read one of his favorite passages from the plays of William Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, Howard Barker, Peter Barnes, Victor Hugo, Bertolt Brecht, etc. I think I picked my aim in life from those little moments that I enjoyed with him for his passion.

I really like my subject English and I can only think of my life around books. I really love the world of literature because it has so much constantly stirring inside it. We have stories we can learn from, characters to relate with, and overall feel a sense of belonging to the wider world which we cannot do in any other way. I like how literature helps me interact with the world and travel different places without moving an inch. There is a magic in literature that can’t be explained but just felt. Since the time I came in touch with this magic, I knew there is no separation from it. To be around literature enthusiasts, writers and poets is where I wish to stay all my life.

My aim in life is to become a teacher. It is what I wanted to do without a second thought. As a teacher, I don’t wish to tap onto the “master of the dock” aspect. Seeing this position, that way is to belittle its importance. I want to be a teacher because I want to explore the dimensions of the education system and make schooling an enjoyable experience for thousands of students and parents who invest their trust in the education system. I want to turn over the school curriculum in a productive manner and make it more than just some conventional activities happening inside the school. I constantly feel like I am born to teach people and get them to think outside the boxes that society constricts their thoughts in. I want to use my knowledge for the betterment of the education system as a teacher. It is the teacher, more than anyone else, who is in a position to ensure that excellent teaching and learning are part of every classroom.

Why Do I Want to be a Teacher?

Making Each Day Count: As a teacher, I will be able to shape the lives of hundreds of children each day. I will enable my students to perform beyond their expectations. My contribution, no matter the size of it, will lead towards a positive change in the lives of students.

Surrounded by Students: I really like being around kids. It is a wonderful feeling. As a teacher, my role would be to educate them and make them better humans. Each day will bring new challenges and obstacles, but it will also bring the will to perform my duty and keep learning happening inside the classroom.

Patience: Handling students is not an easy task. We need a lot of patience for that. Students are very stubborn and it takes time to make them realize the importance of a thing. As a teacher, I must never lose my temper with students. I should always remember that the key to students is patience.

Learning is my Passion: Being a teacher doesn’t mean that we know everything. The path of learning never stops for anybody. As teachers, we need to keep ourselves updated all the time so that our students get to know the correct information rather than the stale and outdated ones. So, the road of learning never ends, it only goes up and it is a teacher’s responsibility to be well-versed with all the new information in their field. I love learning and I feel this is a way to constantly learn, especially from my students themselves.

Shaping the Future: Children are the future of the country. As a teacher, I will be shaping the future. This task is of immense responsibility. The children are really small when they enter the school. All they need is a good guide to help them make wise decisions and adopt good habits till the time they are ready to make decisions for themselves.

All these are the various reasons why I aim to be a teacher in life.
