## Class 10 Maths Statistics Formulas

1. Mean:

The mean of a set of data is the average of the data values. To calculate the mean, add up all the data values and divide by the number of data values.

For example, the mean of the following set of data is 5:

2, 3, 5, 1

To calculate the mean, add up all the data values: 2 + 3 + 5 + 1 = 11

Then divide by the number of data values: 11 / 4 = 2.75

The mean of this set of data is 2.75.

2. Median:

The median of a set of data is the middle value in the set of data. If there is an even number of data values, the median is the average of the two middle values.

For example, the median of the following set of data is 3:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5

To calculate the median, list the data values in order:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Then find the middle value: 3

If there is an even number of data values, the median is the average of the two middle values. In this case, the median is the average of 1 and 2, which is 1.5.

3. Mode:

The mode of a set of data is the value that appears most often in the set of data

## Benefits of Class 10 Statistics Formulas

Statistics formulas are important for data analysis and probability. They help in calculating different measures of central tendency, dispersion and correlation. In addition, they also help in testing hypotheses and deriving conclusions from data.

## All Formulas of Statistics Class 10

1. Mean:

The mean of a set of data is the sum of the data values divided by the number of data values.

For example, the mean of the data set {1, 2, 3, 4} is 2.5.

2. Median:

The median of a set of data is the middle value in the set, after the values have been ordered from smallest to largest.

For example, the median of the data set {1, 2, 3, 4} is 2.

3. Mode:

The mode of a set of data is the value that appears most often in the set.

For example, the mode of the data set {1, 2, 3, 4} is 3.

## Formula For Statistics Class 10 CBSE Maths

The formula for statistics class 10 CBSE maths is:

\(\sum_{i=1}^{n}x_i\)

## Formula of Statistics Class 10 Grouped Mean

The grouped mean formula is:

where:

x is the observed value

μ is the population mean

x̄ is the group mean

N is the number of observations in the group

g is the number of groups

Example

The average weight of a group of ten people is 150 pounds. The group is divided into five subgroups of two people each. Find the group mean for each subgroup.

Subgroup 1: (148, 152)

Subgroup 2: (150, 150)

Subgroup 3: (151, 151)

Subgroup 4: (152, 154)

Subgroup 5: (155, 158)

Subgroup 1: (148, 152)

Subgroup 2: (150, 150)

Subgroup 3: (151, 151)

Subgroup 4: (152, 154)

Subgroup 5: (155, 158)

x̄ = (148 + 150 + 151 + 152 + 155) / 5 = 150.2

μ = 150

## Formula of Statistics Class 10 Grouped Median

The grouped median of a data set is the median of the data when it is grouped into intervals.

## Formula of Statistics Class 10 Grouped Mode

The grouped mode of a set of data is the most frequent value in the data set when the data are grouped into intervals.
