    How to add two fractions?

    Adding like fractions

    While adding two like fractions, add the numerator of both the fractions and place the sum over the common denominator of these fractions.

    Adding unlike fractions

    While adding two unlike fractions we convert them to like fractions and then add them. Here is an example to understand how it is done.
