What is a Mixed fraction?
A fraction which is a combination of a whole number and a proper fraction is known as a Mixed fraction.
For example,
5 2 is a mixed fraction. Here, 5is a whole number and2 is a proper fraction.

What is the Whole part and Fractional part?
In a mixed fraction, the whole number is known as the ‘Whole part’ of the mixed fraction and the proper fraction is known as the ‘Fractional part’ of the mixed fraction.
For example,
In the mixed fraction 11 3,

Representing a mixed fraction as a sum
Any mixed fraction can be represented as the sum of its whole part and fractional part. For example,
