- What’s Next?
In the previous segment, we learnt about Cone. In this segment, we will learn about Prism.
What is Prism?
A Prism is a 3-dimensional shape that has identical parallel ends and all flat faces.
A 3-dimensional figure having a circle or oval as its parallel ends is not a prism, as such a shape will have a curved face and not a flat face.
The ends of a prism can be triangles, quadrilaterals, or any polygonal shape. But they have to be identical and parallel to each other.
A prism is identified by the shape of its parallel ends. For example,
- A prism with triangles as its parallel ends is known as a Triangular prism.
- A prism with rectangles as its parallel ends is known as a Rectangular prism also known as a cuboid.
