Let us understand how to express fractions as a percentage using the following steps with the help of the following examples:

Solution:
Step 1: Make denominator 100.
If we have to express something as a percentage, we have to make its denominator equal to 100.
So, 15 by 20 should equal some number ‘x’ by 100.

Step 2: Cross multiply the fractions.
Since this is proportion, the product of the extremes is always equal to the product of the means.
Thus,
15 × 100 = 20?
