How to multiply fractions by whole numbers?
Let us understand this with the help of a few examples.
Proper fraction multiplied by whole number
If a is a proper fraction and ‘n’ is a whole number then,

For example,
1 × 2 = 1×2 = 2

Improper fraction multiplied by whole number
The method remains the same as for proper fractions. For example,
5 × 3 = 5×3 = 15

Mixed fraction multiplied by whole number
To multiply a mixed fraction with a whole number, the mixed fraction is converted to an improper fraction. The rest of the method remains the same as mentioned above.
For example,
2 5 × 3 =
7
19 × 3 = 57
