In the previous segment, we had a look at congruent figures. In this segment, we will see when two triangles are congruent.
When can we say two triangles are congruent?
Consider these two triangles △ABC and △PQR

We can say these triangles are congruent, when
- length of side AB = length of side PQ
- length of side BC = length of side QR
- length of side AC = length of side PR
- m∠A = m∠P
- m∠B = m∠Q
- m∠C = m∠R
When all the three sides and angles of the two triangles are equal, then the triangles are
congruent. That is, △ABC and △PQR are congruent triangles.
△ABC ≅ △PQR
The ‘≅’ sign is used to denote congruence.
