    Perimeter of Triangle

    On the basis of sides, triangles are divided into three types:

    • Equilateral triangle: This is a triangle in which all three sides are of the same length.

    • Isosceles triangle: This is a triangle in which two of the sides are of the same length.

    • Scalene triangle: This is a triangle in which all three sides are of different lengths.

    On the basis of angles, triangles are divided into three types:

    1. Acute triangle: A triangle whose angles are all less than 90 degrees is called an acute triangle.

    2. Right triangle: A triangle whose one angle is right (90 degrees) is called a right triangle.

    3. Obtuse triangle: A triangle whose one angle is obtuse (more than 90 degrees) is called an obtuse triangle.

    Example on Perimeter of Triangle

    1.A triangle has a base that is 8 feet long and a height of 10 feet. What is the triangle’s perimeter?

    Ans) The perimeter of the triangle is 24 feet.

    2.A triangle has a perimeter of 36 feet. The length of each side is 12 feet.

    Ans)The perimeter of a triangle is the sum of the lengths of its sides. In this case, 36 = 12 + 12 + 12.

    3.A triangle has base 10 feet and height 12 feet. Find the perimeter of the triangle.

    Ans)The perimeter of the triangle is the sum of the lengths of its sides. So, the perimeter is 10 + 12 + 10 = 32 feet.

    4.To find the perimeter of a triangle, we need to find the length of each side. We can use the Pythagorean theorem to find the length of the hypotenuse, and then we can use that to find the length of the other two sides.

    The Pythagorean theorem states that the sum of the squares of the two shorter sides of a right triangle is equal to the square of the length of the hypotenuse.

    For this triangle, the two shorter sides are 4 and 5, so the sum of their squares is 20. The length of the hypotenuse is 6, so the square of 6 is 36. This means that the perimeter of the triangle is 36.
