How are wind speed and air pressure related to each other?

To understand how wind speed and air pressure impact each other, all that is needed is a strip of paper.

When air is blown over a strip of paper held in front of the mouth, we would expect the paper to be pushed downwards. However, the paper moves upwards.

This is because the air pressure below the paper strip is higher and it pushes the paper upwards.

Which means that the increased speed of air above the paper resulted in low pressure above the paper strip.

So, we can say that the increased wind speed reduces the pressure exerted by the air.

It also means that the air moves from a high-pressure area to a low-pressure area.
