Protons move by active transport for the generation of ATP
It does not require establishment of proton gradient
Movement of Protons is by facilitated diffusion to generate ATP
Splitting of the water molecule decreases the proton concentration in the lumen of thylakoids.
The part of ATP synthetase is embedded in the thylakoid membrane and forms a transmembrane channel that carries out facilitated diffusion of protons across the membrane. Chemiosmosis requires a membrane, a proton pump, a proton gradient and ATP synthase.
