B
Vertical division of power or power shared among different levels of government.
C
Horizontal division of power or power shared among different organs of the government.
D
Power sharing in the form of political parties, pressure groups and governments.
Solution:
The system of checks and balances is another name for the horizontal division of power shared among different levels of government. In India, the check and balance system work on the three horizontal levels of government: Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary. Through the system of checks and balances, our constitution gives rights to these three bodies to check and access each other or stop actions by the other organs. Thus no individual organ of the government can have excessive power, or else in this case, it will be balanced by the other working organ of the government.
