1) Power sharing means transferring power and responsibilities from the centre to the constituent units. It has different forms. When power is distributed among different organs of government, it is called separation of powers.2) The organs of the government are the legislature, executive, and judiciary. Each organ checks the power of the other. It follows a horizontal distribution of power. When Powers are distributed among different levels of government, it is called the federal government.
3) When powers are distributed among different social groups, it can be religious/linguistic groups. It is called Community Government.
4) When power is shared among different parties, it is possible to make sure power does not get confined to a single hand. It is called Coalition Government.
