Solution:Gandhiji called the Dalits Harijan.
Gandhiji considered the untouchables the children of God. He organised Satyagraha to secure the entry of Dalits into temples and access to public wells, tanks, roads and schools. In addition, he persuaded the upper class to abandon the sin of untouchability. Gandhiji was against the idea of separate electorates because he considered that by giving separate electorates, the depressed class people would become more alienated from society. Thus he clashed with Dr Ambedkar during the Second Round Table Conference. Finally, it led to the Poona Pact, an agreement between M.K. Gandhi and B.R. Ambedkar signed in the Yerwada Central Jail, Poona, on September 24, 1932.
