    Solution:

Gautama Buddha spoke in Prakrit. In his lectures and teachings, Gautama Buddha used the Prakrit language. He did so because it was the language of the learned and was spoken by priests and commentators. The two most extensively used languages in this period were Pali and Prakrit. Pali used to write the Tripitaka.  He taught his students compassion and regard for other people's lives. He communicated with them in the language of the common people, Prakrit.
