    Solution:

The first cotton mill was set up in Bombay in 1854. By 1862, four mills with 2,150 looms and 94,000 spindles were at work. The jute mill came into existence in Bengal in 1855, and another was developed by 1862. The Elgin Mill came up in Kanpur in the 1860s, and after some time, the first cotton mill was also established in Ahmedabad. In this manner, industries were blooming across the country by the end of the century.
