    Solution:

The death of Potti Sriramulu sparked such violent protests that the government was forced to give in to the demand for the linguistic state of Andhra.
Potti Sriramulu was a Gandhian leader who belonged to Andhra Pradesh. He demanded a separate state for Telugu speakers and went on a hunger strike for this demand for the formation of the Andhra state. He died fasting for the Andhra state and protecting Telugu speakers' interests. His death raged the Telugu speakers, who then went on to organise hartals and bandhs and took a violent path. Sriramulu had fasted for a total of fifty-eight days.
