    Solution:

The Poona Pact was an agreement between M.K. Gandhi and B.R.Ambedkar signed in the Yerwada Central jail, Poona, on 24th September 1932. The agreement was to provide reservations to the depressed classes. Belonging to an untouchable community, Dr Ambedkar favoured separate electorates for the depressed classes. However, Gandhiji was against this idea because he considered that by giving more opportunities through separate electorates, the depressed class people would get more alienated from society.
