Liberal nationalism in Europe came into existence with the French Revolution. The French Revolution brought the idea of freedom, liberty, equality, and fraternity. The liberal nationalists believed in one's freedom and equality before the law. The liberal nationalists also urged the State to preserve the Church, monarchy, social hierarchies, and property of the people. They often criticized the very orthodox new conservative order which included the freedom of the press. The reason for this protest was to rescue the memoirs of the French revolution that bore the ideas of liberal nationalism. These ideas of the French Revolution had inspired the liberal nationalist which was being modified by the press.
