As we know basic formula of quadratic equation -
$x=\frac{-b±\sqrt{{b}^{2}-4\mathit{ac}}}{2a}$
Here, $b=-2$
$a=1$
$c=-2$
Putting value of and $c$ in above equation
$x=\frac{-\left(-2\right)±\sqrt{{\left(-2\right)}^{2}-4\left(1\right)\left(-2\right)}}{2\left(1\right)}$
$x=\frac{2±\sqrt{4+8}}{2}$
$x=\frac{2±\sqrt{12}}{2}$
$x=\frac{2±2\sqrt{3}}{2}$
