Solution:
Females are heterogametic in fowls. The female has ZW allosomes and the male has ZZ allosomes. Females produce two types of ova. Half of the ova carry the allosome Z while the other half contain the allosome W. Males are homogametic. All the sperms carry the allosome Z.
