Swachh Survekshan Survey 2020 was a subsidiary of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and was launched by the Ministry of State for Housing and Urban Affairs in the year 2020. Like other years, Swachh Survekshan League 2020 was aimed at different objectives of implementation viewing the condition of the nation this year.
The league 2020 worked on cleaning Ganga and other rivers to make them deliver fresh water to the nearby places. Apart from the rivers, cleaning the other water resources was under the plan of Swachhta Survekshan League 2020 so that the amount of freshwater could be increased.
Adopting the policy of reuse, reduce, and recycle and motivating others to adopt the same was a major goal to be achieved in the league. Around 4372 cities across the nation participated in the league and showed an unprecedented result. The goal of becoming a completely open defecation free nation was nearly achieved.
Under the Swachhta Survekshan League 2020, Indore was the city to achieve the 1st rank and become the cleanest Indian city. Also, Bhopal and Surat secured second and third place respectively, and proved the importance of clean water. Open Defecation Free India was the greatest thing to be achieved under the League.
