They are activated when they encounter an antigen that they recognize. This interaction initiates a cascade of events that leads to the activation of T cells and the production of cytokines.<\/p>\n<p>T cells are divided into two main types: CD4+ T cells and CD8+ T cells. CD4+ T cells are responsible for the activation of B cells and the production of antibodies.
