If no signs or symptoms occur, the test is considered negative and the individual is not likely allergic to gluten.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_Benedicts_Test\"><\/span>What is Benedict\u2019s Test?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Benedict&#8217;s test is a qualitative chemical test used to identify the presence of a reducing sugar in a sample. A reducing sugar is a sugar that can donate a hydrogen atom to an acceptor molecule. In Benedict&#8217;s test, a reducing sugar is added to a hot copper sulfate solution. The copper sulfate solution turns a blue-green color in the presence of a reducing sugar.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Principle_of_Benedict_Test\"><\/span>Principle of Benedict Test<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The principle of Benedict Test is that a reducing sugar (such as glucose) will react with an alkaline copper sulfate solution to form a blue precipitate. The Benedict Test is used to determine the presence of a reducing sugar in a solution.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Benedicts_Test_Procedure\"><\/span>Benedict\u2019s Test Procedure<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Benedict\u2019s Test procedure is a chemical test used to determine whether a substance is an aldehyde or a ketone. The test uses Benedict\u2019s Solution, a copper-based solution that turns a bright blue-green when it reacts with aldehydes or ketones.<\/p>\n<p>To perform the Benedict\u2019s Test, a small sample of the substance to be tested is mixed with Benedict\u2019s Solution. If the substance is an aldehyde, the solution will turn a bright blue-green. If the substance is a ketone, the solution will turn a light yellow.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Benedicts_Reagent_Test\"><\/span>Benedict\u2019s Reagent Test<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To 3 mL of the sample in a test tube, add 2 drops of Benedict\u2019s reagent.<\/p>\n<p>Stir the mixture and observe the color change.<\/p>\n<p>A positive test result will change the color of the mixture from yellow to red.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Benedicts_Test_s\"><\/span>Benedict\u2019s Test s<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Benedict\u2019s test is a qualitative test used to identify the presence of protein in a solution. A protein will react with the solution to form a precipitate, which can be identified and quantified.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Limitation_of_Benedicts_Test\"><\/span>Limitation of Benedict\u2019s Test<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Benedict\u2019s test is a qualitative test that can only be used to identify the presence of starch in a sample.
