The process exploits the difference in hydrophobicity between minerals and gangue. Hydrophobicity is a measure of how strongly a molecule is attracted to water. Gangue is less attracted to water than most minerals, so it is carried to the surface of the water while the minerals remain in the suspension. This removes all of the non-metal elements from the metal and leaves behind the pure metal.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Roasting\"><\/span>Roasting<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Roasting is a dry heat cooking method that uses an oven or stove.
