Thus, the west extent from Arunachal Pradesh to Kuchchh is about 2900 km.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Locational Setting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Tropic of Cancer (23\u00b030\u2032 N) passes almost halfway through the country.<\/li>\n<li>From South to North. India extends between 8\u00b04\u2032 N and 37\u00b06\u2032 N latitudes.<\/li>\n<li>From West to East, India extends between 68\u00b07\u2032 E and 97\u00b025\u2032 E longitudes.<\/li>\n<li>The local time changes by four minutes for every one degree of longitude.<\/li>\n<li>The local time of longitude of 82\u00b030\u2032 E has been taken as the Indian Standard Time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>India\u2019s Neighbours<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There are seven countries that share land boundaries with India.<\/li>\n<li>The seven countries are Afghanistan, Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bhutan.
