I hope our efforts in the cleaning and maintenance of our school premises as well as infrastructure would be able to impress our judges and earn a few words of appreciation. Besides, I would also like to deliver a short speech on Clean India Campaign or <em>Swachh Bharat Abhiyan <\/em>in order that more and more people become aware of it and start observing cleanliness in his\/her surroundings and also encourage others to do the same.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Clean India Campaign or what has become the catch phrase for all, i.e. <em>Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, <\/em>is one of the most awarded projects kick started by the Prime Minister of India \u2013 Shri Narendra Modi Ji. It was on 2<sup>nd<\/sup> October, i.e. the day of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, in the year 2014 that he made an official announcement of this special campaign. This is indeed one-of-its-kind campaign which drew attention of millions of people and received recognition at a national level.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The driving aim behind this campaign was of course to make every region of India, be it rural or urban, Open Defecation Free. Besides this, the aim of this prestigious campaign was to encourage the habit of cleanliness and maintenance of hygiene at all public and private places \u2013 whether its streets, roads, offices, homes or public infrastructure across the country. The best aspect of this campaign is to lay stress on cleanliness and the building of public toilets in all colleges, schools as well as public places.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the stark differences, which I am sure everyone realizes, is the level of cleanliness between India and other western nations. Do we not wonder at times why their cities remain so sparkling clean and well-maintained? Of course, we need to learn a lot from them and embark on the same path if we want our country to be counted amongst the developed nations in the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Swachh Bharat Abhiyan<\/em> is needless to say one of the biggest sanitation and cleanliness campaigns being run on a national scale and one of the best parts worth sharing is that over three million public personnel, including school as well as college students came forward to become a part of this campaign. The chief goal of the<em> Swachh Bharat Abhiyan <\/em>is to clean our country\u2019s 4,041 towns and cities with a budget of 1.96 lakh crore, which nearly comes down to $31 billion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The best part of this campaign is that no sector has remained untouched of its influence and even the Indian film entertainment industry has begun to take this project quite seriously. In fact, one blockbuster movie was also made on this subject called \u201cToilet: Ek Prem Katha\u201d starring Bhumi Pednekar and Akshay Kumar. The movie, as can be inferred from the title, suggests the problems faced by women living in the rural region of India, who have no choice but to defecate in open area and the compelling situation of building more toilets in the rural regions of India. It is really nice to see the cleanliness campaign gaining huge momentum amongst the people and bringing in a sweeping change in our society for good.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That\u2019s all I have to say!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thank You!<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Speech_on_Clean_India_2\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Speech on Clean India 2<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dear Society Members and My Loving Children \u2013 Warm Good Evening to all of you!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I am extremely apologetic in case inconvenience is caused to you for making your presence here on such a short notice. Actually, I wanted to organize this gathering some days after, but it is due to the Cleanliness Campaign organized by our neighboring societies that I had no choice, but to call for this meeting so urgently. The reason why I also invited children in today\u2019s meeting is because of the fact that children are seen as the active member of this campaign and their level of excitement as well as dedication is unmatchable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So I would request everyone to join hands together and become part of this campaign where each one of us would be doing our bit in order to make this campaign a great success by wiping out all the debris and waste from our living surroundings. But before I take your thoughts on the same and invite suggestions on how we can proceed, please allow me to deliver a succinct speech on Clean India Campaign, which has gained huge impetus nationwide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Even though it was not for the first time that our Indian Government brought Clean India campaign to people\u2019s attention, but this present one kick started by Narendra Modi Ji has managed to capture the attention of the people from across the country. But prior to this, it was in the year 1999 that the Indian Government launched the campaign called \u201cTotal Sanitation\u201d, which was afterwards renamed as \u201cNirmal Bharat Abhiyan\u201d by the former Prime Minister Shri Manmohan Singh Ji. But this time, under the tutelage of Narendra Modi this campaign has become a national priority. It was quite unbelievable for the people to imagine a prime minister to make such an unexpected move and give so much importance to such a petite subject as one may consider the issue of cleanliness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Actually, with no offense to anyone, it has been observed that not many people in India observe cleanliness. We have become used to living in a disorderly state or else we choose to overlook it and pay no attention to it. In such a situation, people end up doing nothing, but blaming the government or public officials for the unavailability or the poor maintenance of the infrastructure. But PM Narendra Modi managed to awake the consciousness of people towards cleanliness and health hygiene so much so the people got encouraged to become an active part of this Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. In fact, many pictures that went viral on social media platforms showed PM Modi Ji himself taking the broom in his hands and cleaning the road. Some may consider it as political stunt or marketing strategy, but what he did is really commendable and worth taking an inspiration from.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So I sincerely hope that we will also become a part of the campaign run by our neighboring societies and show our active participation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thank You!<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Speech_on_Clean_India_3\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Speech on Clean India 3<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esteemed Guests of Honor and Respected Audience \u2013 Warm Greetings to all of you and I welcome you all to the Clean India Awareness Camp! Thanks for coming in large numbers and making this awareness camp a success.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is laying a lot of emphasis on cleanliness and maintenance of health hygiene, it has taken our country by storm where every person next door is now getting conscious of the maintenance of cleanliness and sanitation. In fact, his campaign called <em>Swachh Bharat Abhiyan <\/em>invites the active participation of every Indian towards ensuring the success of this campaign. However, no such campaign can turn out to be fruitful until and unless the mindset of the people changes and they feel the need for ensuring cleanliness from within their own conscience. Thus, it is very important to change the \u2018Chalta hai\u2019 attitude of the people because this change cannot come by force and people should willingly step forward towards ensuring cleanliness and health hygiene.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Generally, people keep their houses clean and when it comes to ensuring their surroundings clean, such as parks, streets, roads, etc their attitude turns reckless and then nobody cares because everyone wants to leave the responsibility on the government and its officials for ensuring well-maintained streets, roads as well as public infrastructure. This attitude needs to change as people themselves throw waste and make their surroundings unclean then blame government for lack of action and ineptitude.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is important to make people aware about its importance, but more than that awareness should translate into actions. Since our government has already taken this initiative, it will definitely bring people to action and make them conscious towards maintaining cleanliness and health hygiene. Other than this, our government can also launch a separate drive for cleanliness awareness so that the number of people working for this campaign can grow. Eventually, such initiatives will not only change people\u2019s \u2018Chalta Hai\u2019 attitude, but will also ascertain their participation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In fact, this drive of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene was very much there even before India gained Independence and many great Indian leaders, such as Mahatma Gandhi dwelt on observing good habits as well as cleanliness in order to foster positive attitude amongst the people. As it is said that cleanliness is next to godliness, we should never ever let our surroundings to remain unclean otherwise it will affect our character and behavior. In many countries, throwing garbage or spitting on the road is considered a serious offence, but in our country we see almost every other passerby spitting tobacco or other things on the road. Is this a mark of the civilized society? Of course not, right!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So, why do we not take concrete measures and strictly prohibit not only others but ourselves of not throwing waste in our surroundings. I hope everyone present here is happy and in the best of spirit!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As a part of this Swachh Noida Samiti, I feel extremely elated to see people in large numbers willing to become a part of our group and work towards the betterment of our society. And, nothing could be more special than getting to host this prestigious event of today on having successfully completing the 25 Swachh Noida Samiti Abhiyan and bringing more and more people onboard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also, I would like to take this opportunity in order to speak about what Narendra Modi, our Indian Prime Minister, has achieved so far through his <em>Swachh Bharat Abhiyan<\/em>. He kick started this nation-wide campaign in the year 2014 dated 2<sup>nd<\/sup> October. The date, as we all know, marks the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It was a great initiative undertaken by him and the day he chose to introduce this program to his people could not be more apt. His chief aim behind introducing this campaign was to make available basic sanitation facilities to those families living in remote areas or rural regions. Thus, it includes building of toilets as well as liquid and solid waste disposal systems, including ensuring cleanliness in village along with the purified and adequate drinking water facility. The Prime Minister looks forward to achieving this aim by 2019 and thus in this way wishes to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation, i.e. Mahatma Gandhi on his 150<sup>th<\/sup> birth anniversary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr. Narendra Modi said in one of his speeches that this mission is far above and beyond politics and is inspired by patriotism or deep love for his country. He also urged his countrymen to take the oath saying \u201c<em>na main gandagi karoonga, na main gandagi karne doonga<\/em>\u201d (I shall not litter and wouldn\u2019t allow others to do the same). In addition, he also became a part of one walkathon in order to further promote his<em> Swachh<\/em> <em>Bharat<\/em> Campaign. In his speech, he also mentioned that it is not a mere slogan, but everyone\u2019s responsibility to free his\/her motherland from the unnecessary weight of garbage and unwanted articles. This made people recall Gandhi ji\u2019s idea of cleanliness and link this present campaign with Gandhi\u2019s mission of maintaining both personal as well as public hygiene.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Gandhi ji, \u201cAs long as you do not take the broom and the bucket in your hands, you cannot make your towns and cities clean.\u201d Thus, as the natives of our country, it becomes our own responsibility of ensuring cleanliness in our surroundings. We should not simply leave the accountability on the government personnel, local community or NGOs for that matter. It calls for a collective responsibility of everyone in order to realize the dream of Mahatma Gandhi and give utmost protection to our environment before the situation goes completely out of
