This particular day was selected as at this day the laws of the UNWTO came into force in the year 1970 which is considered as the big landmark for the global tourism as it aims to aware to people about the significant role of the tourism inside the international community as well as to exhibit how the social, economic, cultural, political values are affected by it globally.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"World_Tourism_Day_2019\"><\/span>World Tourism Day 2019<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Every year the World Tourism Day is celebrated on 27<sup>th<\/sup> September (Friday in 2019) every year to raise awareness about tourism and its impact on culture and society. The 2019 theme of the day was \u201cTourism, a key sector in the world\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>India was the host country for 2019 observation of World Tourism Day. A grand function was organized at Vigyan Bhavan in the National capital New Delhi under the theme \u201cTourism and Jobs: A Better Future for All\u201d. The events were spanned over a period of three days, from Thursday, 26<sup>th<\/sup> September to Saturday, 28<sup>th<\/sup> September.<\/p>\n<p>The opening remarks were made by Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary General of the United Nation World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Talks were held and National Tourism Awards were presented by the Hon\u2019ble Vice President of India.<\/p>\n<h3>Host Country of World Tourism Day 2019<\/h3>\n<p>Host Country of World Tourism Day 2019 is \u201cIndia\u201d. It is for the first time World Tourism Day is hosted by India with the theme \u2018Tourism and Jobs: a better future for all\u2019.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"World_Tourism_Day_2019_Special\"><\/span>World Tourism Day 2019 Special<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>India has got the privilege of hosting World tourist day for the year 2019, which not only encourages tourism but also makes people familiar to the art, culture and history of the country.<\/li>\n<li>The theme for 2019 is \u2018Tourism and Jobs: a better future for all\u2019, the whole world is facing the problem of unemployment and tourism is one of the best sources of employment, especially for youth and women. This will not only increase enthusiasm among the people but will also help in developing the nation economically.<\/li>\n<li>There is a program organized by the Ministry of Tourism in Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. Where the auditorium will witness the presence of various famous personalities and the India National Tourism Awards of the year 2019 will be distributed. They will discuss various topics like economic development, tourism, private and public tourism sector and how to develop human capital skills in tourism, etc to promote tourism.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Why World Tourism Day is Celebrated?<\/h3>\n<p>This day is celebrated every year having particular theme for making aware the people all over the world. The theme of 2011 event celebration was Tourism Linking Cultures and of 2012 was Tourism and Energetic Sustainability. May be the theme of year 2013 will be highlighting the tourism role to a brighter energy future. The day is celebrated every year on September 27<sup>th<\/sup> each year aiming to aware the people about the importance of the tourism.<\/p>\n<p>A message is sent to the general public every year by the UNWTO Secretary-General to participate in the occasion. It is celebrated with the great interest by the various tourism enterprises, organizations, government agencies and etc. Varieties of competitions are held at this day such as photo competitions promoting the tourism, tourism award presentations including free entries, discounts\/special offers to the general public.<\/p>\n<p>Tourism has become the continuously growing and developing economic sectors worldwide because of the occurrence of various attractive and new destinations for the tourists.
