The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is administered by IITs annually for admission to postgraduate and master’s courses such as M.Tech, M.E., and PhD. Students with undergraduate degrees in B.Tech can appear in the GATE exam. Students in the final year of their studies may also appear on the exam.

CAT is a computer-based test of acceptance in the degree management system. The test consists of three categories of Speech and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Critical Thinking (DILR) and Equal Ability (QA).
