A percent and a fraction are two different ways of expressing a portion or a part of a whole.
A percent is a way of expressing a value as a fraction of 100. It is denoted by the symbol “%”. For example, if you have 30 out of 100 apples, you can say you have 30%. Percentages are used to represent proportions or ratios on a scale of 0 to 100.
A fraction represents a part of a whole or a ratio of two quantities. It is written in the form of a numerator (top number) over a denominator (bottom number), separated by a horizontal line.
Converting a percent to a fraction involves a simple process. Here’s how you can do it:
Take the given percent and write it as a fraction with the percent value as the numerator and 100 as the denominator.
If the numerator and denominator of the fraction have a common factor other than 1, you can simplify the fraction by dividing both the numerator and denominator by that common factor.
Example – Convert 75% to a Fraction
Ans. Write the percent as a fraction over 100:
Percent = 75%, Fraction = 75/100
Simplify the fraction:
The numerator (75) and denominator (100) have a common factor of 25. Divide both by 25:
Simplified Fraction = 75/100 ÷ 25/25 = 3/4
So, 75% is equivalent to the fraction 3/4.
In general, the formula for converting a percent to a fraction is:
Percent as Fraction = Percent Value / 100
And then simplify the fraction if needed.
Remember, fractions are typically in their simplest form when the numerator and denominator have no common factors other than 1.

To convert a percent to a fraction, follow these steps: Remove the percent symbol. Divide the number by 100 to convert it to a decimal. Simplify the decimal into a fraction if necessary.
To convert 66.67% to a fraction: Remove the percent symbol: 66.67 Divide by 100: 66.67 / 100 = 0.6667 Simplify: 0.6667 can be approximated as 2/3.
To convert 37.5% to a fraction: Remove the percent symbol: 37.5 Divide by 100: 37.5 / 100 = 0.375 Simplify: 0.375 can be expressed as 3/8.
To convert 30% to a fraction: Remove the percent symbol: 30 Divide by 100: 30 / 100 = 0.3 Simplify: 0.3 can be expressed as 3/10.
To convert 20% to a fraction: Remove the percent symbol: 20 Divide by 100: 20 / 100 = 0.2 Simplify: 0.2 can be expressed as 1/5.
To convert 42% to a fraction: Remove the percent symbol: 42 Divide by 100: 42 / 100 = 0.42 Simplify: 0.42 can be written as 21/50.
To convert 33.33% to a fraction: Remove the percent symbol: 33.33 Divide by 100: 33.33 / 100 = 0.3333 Simplify: 0.3333 can be approximated as 1/3.
