In competitive inhibition, inhibitiors resemble the structure of substrate and are also called as “substrate analogues”. Competitive inhibitors bind to active site of enzyme there by decreasing the probability of binding substrate molecule to enzyme. V_max remains unchanged during competitive inhibition.
When the accumulation of glucose-6-phosphate occurs, it inhibits the enzyme hexokinase. This is an example of feedback inhibition.
