PH scale, PH of strong acids and strong bases
Question

The pH of a 1 lit solution is 2. It is diluted with water till its pH becomes 4. How many litres of water are added ?

Easy
Solution

[H+] = 10-2

\large \frac{{{n_{{H^ + }}}}}{V} = {10^{ - 4}}

\large \Rightarrow \frac{{{{10}^{ - 2}} \times 1}}{V} = {10^{ - 4}}

\large \Rightarrow V = 100 L

water added = (100 - 1)L = 99L
