According to the given Problem
$\frac{I_{1}}{I_{2}} = \frac{a_{1}^{2}}{a_{2}^{2}} = 2 or \frac{a_{1}}{a_{2}} = \sqrt{2}$
So, the amplitudes are in the ratio $\sqrt{2}$ : 1 or amplitudes are
$\sqrt{2}$ and $α$ For r maximum intensity (constructive
interference), the resultant amplitude
$= (\sqrt{2} + 1) a$
For minimum intensity (constructive interference)' the resultant amplitude $= (\sqrt{2} - 1) a$
This ratio of resultant intensities at maxima to that at minima $= \frac{(\sqrt{2} + 1)^{2} a^{2}}{(\sqrt{2} - 1)^{2} a^{2}}$
