A" B, C are identical bulbs. How does the brightness of A and B change when the switch S is closed ?

When the switch 5 is closed the resistance C comes in parallel with the resistance B, As B and C becomes in parallel, the resistance of combination is halved. As a result the resistance of the circuit decreases and current increases. But the current through B decreases. Hence the brightness of A increases and that of decreases.
