NCERT Class 5 Maths Mela is the current CBSE-prescribed Maths textbook, replacing the earlier Math-Magic edition. This page has free chapter-wise PDFs for all 15 chapters, covering geometry, measurement, fractions, symmetry, and data handling.
Maths Mela teaches these concepts through real-world activities, puzzles, and stories instead of formulas alone. Each chapter is built around a familiar setting, such as a dairy farm, a coconut grove, or a journey, so students see how math connects to daily life.
This approach makes it easier for Class 5 students to build problem-solving skills and number sense. Both skills carry directly into Class 6, where subjects begin splitting into separate, more formal streams.
The current NCERT Books for Class 5 uses travel, farms, patterns, maps and other familiar settings to explain mathematical ideas rather than relying only on routine sums.
The book focuses on understanding, reasoning and problem-solving, not only answers.
These topics also prepare students for more detailed Maths concepts in Class 6.
The current Maths Mela book has 15 chapters. The chapter structure moves from numbers and fractions to geometry, measurement, time and data. NCERT Book's official materials confirm the new Grade 5 book structure for the current session.
| Chapter | Title |
| 1 | We the Travellers – I |
| 2 | Fractions |
| 3 | Angles as Turns |
| 4 | We the Travellers – II |
| 5 | Far and Near |
| 6 | The Dairy Farm |

The older Math-Magic book had 14 chapters, including The Fish Tale, Shapes and Angles and Parts and Wholes.

The current NCERT Class 5 Maths book develops number sense and practical problem-solving. Students learn how numbers work in situations involving travel, milk production, weight, distance and time.
Some key areas students practise are:

JEE

NEET

Foundation JEE

Foundation NEET

CBSE
Regular practice with these topics can make the transition to Class 6 Maths easier.
Infinity Learn offers Class 5 Maths worksheets, sample papers and NCERT solutions. However, several current Class 5 resources still follow the earlier Math-Magic chapter structure. Students using Maths Mela should check that each resource matches their current textbook before using it for revision.
Infinity Learn is backed by Sri Chaitanya's 39+ years of academic legacy in Indian education. Students who need extra help can also access 24×7 doubt-clearing support through the Infinity Learn app.
