Detailed Solution

Cotton and Metal were the most dynamic industries of Great Britain.
The earliest factories in England were set up around the 1730s, but the growth accelerated only after half of the eighteenth century. The cotton and the iron and steel industries contributed to the industrial revolution in Britain. The cotton industry was the first to get mechanised and led the way to the first phase of the Industrial Revolution. Meanwhile, the iron and steel industry was introduced around the 1840s. The need for machines after rapid industrialisation increased the iron and steel industry demand. In the 1860s, the introduction of railways in the colonies of Britain increased the demand for the construction of railways. Consequently, Britain started to acquire many raw materials, even from the colonies' rural, hamlet, and isolated regions.
