Harvesting and sowing times vary according to climatic conditions in different regions. It is sown in April-May and harvested in December-January before winter frost can damage the crop. India's jute industry has been around for 150 years. Jute is the only crop whose yields start to grow well before the actual harvest. Seeds are sown between April and May, and they are harvested between July and August.
