Detailed Solution

Muslim League announced Direct Action Day on 16th August 1946.
Popularly known as the All-Indian Muslim League, it was a political party established in British India in 1906. The League had started viewing Muslims as a separate nation, and the leaders of the Muslim League wished to get separated from the Hindus. Following the failure of the Cabinet Mission by the British, the Muslim League saw mass agitation as the only way to win its demand for a separate nation. For this reason, it declared 16th August 1946 as Direct Action Day. Bloodshed in the entire country followed, with people mercilessly killing each other.
