This is because they make the soil fertile by moving inside the soil when the soil is watered, eating it and de-infecting the soil. Earthworm also helps in the nitrogen fixation of the soil. They reside inside the soil and thus benefit the soil by enriching its minerals and resources.  Earthworms improve soil quality by converting organic waste into humus. This enriches the soil and promotes crop growth.Earthworm present inside the soil regulates the oxygen level by moving inside the soil which helps plants to get more and more required nutrients and thus helps in proper germination of seeds and plants.
