In the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, US security forces made a large number of arrests all around the world. They kept these people in secret prisons in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The American Navy controlled this area, and nobody was allowed there. In most cases, they did not inform the accused's family members or their governments. The US government claimed that these people were enemies of the country and also linked them to the infamous terrorist attacks in some way or another. Moreover, the area was heavily guarded, and even the media personnel and UN representatives were not allowed inside.
