Robert Clive was the first governor of the Bengal presidency. He played an essential role in laying the foundation of the British East India Company in Bengal. After that, Robert Clive was commander in chief of India. He fought the first battle of Britisher against Siraj-ud-daula and won the battle by using the trick over Mir Jafar. This battle was known as the battle of Plassey, which was fought about the fortification in Calcutta and misuse of concession. After that, he became the governor-general of Bengal twice.
