Detailed Solution

Mahatma Gandhi called off the Non-Cooperation Movement in February 1922.
Following a series of events, the Non-Cooperation Movement was founded. From September 1920 until February 1922, the non-cooperation movement was in full effect. The movement was primarily a nonviolent and peaceful protest against the British government. Indians were asked to abandon their titles and resign from government institutions. Mahatma Gandhi was opposed to violent movements. When a crowd of peasants set fire to a police station in Chauri Chaura in February 1922, he abruptly ended the Non-Cooperation Movement. On that day, the peasants were provoked because the police fired on their peaceful protest, and 22 police officers were killed.
