Ashvaghosha was a famous poet during the Kushan dynasty. He composed a biography based on the life of Buddha. It was called Buddhacharita. Ashvaghosha lived in the court of the mighty emperor Kanishka, who was the most powerful ruler of the Kushan dynasty. He had undying faith in Buddhism and was also known as the replica of Samrat Ashoka. Under the guidance and help of Ashvaghosha, Kanisha developed a new form of Buddhism known as Mahayana Buddhism. Due to their efforts, the spread of Buddhism excelled in countries like China, Korea, Japan, and parts of Central Asia.
